DESIGN WITH THE PAST
| The Last Frontier
This project is about the rehabilitation of a vacant building with 242m2 in Nogueira da Regedoura, Espinho, Portugal.
This project is created for a fictitious male client, photojournalist about 30 years old who works mostly for National Geographic, lives alone and spends most of the year traveling for work.
The little time that he spends at home, occupies it with photographic editing, receiving potential clients for the eventual purchase of his work and hanging out with friends and family.

Ground Floor
| Entry
The blue print illustration above highlights the main entry of the building, which is a sort of outdoor garden, as we can see in the render below. To create this garden we had to remove a part of the front roof and create a second entry for the building, which was divided in two doors, one in which side of the glass wall.
| Office
The illustration above and the render below highlights the office of the building, in which the habitant uses to work on photo edition and to receive some clients he might have. In the left
wall we can see a sliding door that leads us to toilet.
At the right side we can see an opening that leads us to the back of the building, where we will find the semi-private area of the project.
| Living Room | Dining Room & Kitchen
This illustration and renders show us the semi-private area of the project where the habitant can relax, watch TV, cook and dining alone or with friends and family.
Right next to the kitchen, we can see an opening symmetrical to the living room that leads to an opening space.
| Opening Space
This opening space is a sort of pre-room where the habitant has a reading area with a view to the outdoor garden. At the right, we can see a door that leads to the bathroom, straight ahead we see sliding doors, which
is the closet.
The spiral staircaise leads us to the mezzanine, the most private area of the project, where the bedroom
is located.
|Bedroom
The bedroom is located above the ground floor - mezzanine - where thehabitat has the sleeping space with skylight above the bed, so that he can see the stars at night or slimply to iluminate
the whole space with natural light.
As we can see, right at the opposite corner, was created a relaxation area where the habitant can read or simply contemplate the silence.
I hope you enjoy this project!!

Leave your comments so I can improve my work... Thank You!!
