Accessibility for Deaf-Friendly Spaces
Degree's Final Project in Graphic Design

As a graphic designer with deafness, seeing that the society that surrounds me isn’t adapted to my needs and the deaf community doesn’t have very good experience in any public event, I asked myself a question:

"How can we make an event or any space
accessible for deaf people?

Given the linguistic and communicative difficulties that the deaf community presents when attending festivals, shows or events, FADE is born as a starting point, an activist response. It’s a consultant or social entity that is responsible for recommending and guiding associations, companies and organizations in order that the conditions of the spaces favor accessibility and inclusion. This projects builds its image and offer some tools.

These recommendations are reflected through a brand book that explains the main points to be taken into account for the spaces, an app which contains information of all events that are celebrated and have the support of FADE, marked by guarantee labels that certify that their spaces are deaf-friendly.

However, this project doesn't intend to solve these obstacles or be the final and decisive solution. Its intention is to start taking iniciatives regarding this issue and push forward for better experiences, more accessible spaces and give platforms to the disabled people.
Because of the information voids, part of the message or the sound wave fades away.
Hence the concept; partial loss of information like hearing loss.

Special thanks to Blanc Festival 2019 team for giving me a platform to expose my project in Museu de Disseny (Barcelona) and helping me to express my voice.
