PHOTO ALBUM
(Pictures I Have Taken That Have Meaning Or Artistic Value To Me)
Extinction Rebellion - Manchester - Whilst staying in Manchester for a weekend, I went to observe the peaceful protests.  I thought the artwork was poweful and encapsulating; by using crisp packets and other waste products to construct a symbol that traditionally represents peace and solidarity, it highlights the point humanity has reached where common day materials are no longer natural and instead we are abusing the environment and leaving our 'used' products to waste away whcih can aslo be seen in the VW Polo left to rust and be covered in weeds.

Catalonian Protests - Barcelona - On a school trip to Barcelona I was able to see the Catlonian struggle up-close and speak to people that fell on both sides of the arguement.  My conclusion was that people were upset that they were not even given the opportunity to vote and instead had the decsion made for them by the government they did not trust.
When I go for a run a sometimes bring my phone so that i can take pictures, photogenic sky depending.  These are three heavily contrasting instances.
These photographs were taken at the RETRO AUTO-MOTO MUSEO in Barcelona.  They have been heavily saturated to emphasise the strength and vibrance of the red paint.
Sagrada Familia - A cathedral that will never truly be complete.
Whilst in Barcelona, I visited the Sagrada Familia, these photographs were taken as they show the power of light and how it can create different feelings and environments.
The 10 second exposure shot (left) shows a mechanism in motion.  I thought the bold yellow pulley system was increcibly photogenic when contrasted with the exposed black steel structural supports.

The photograph on the right shows a cable car.  This picture is intended to put an emphasis on the colours of the car with a faded surrounding in order to imply the importance and significance of it once your suspended in it 100ft up in the air.
These photographs show the culture.  Meaning, the typcial day-to-day views and experiences of a local.
The high rate of crime, specifically home burglary, in Spain means people often fit rails to their windows for protection, this can spoil the aesthetic of the building; here however, the architect design security into the exterior to convery the wavy lines similar to the Casa Mila.
The Agbar Tower - Barcelona - A much larger and more colourful version of the Gherkin in London, surrounded by greenery, this building emphasises the contrast between the UK & Spain in terms of approach to infastructure and city layout design.
Whilst touring the Barcelona FC Stadium I took many photpgraphs, two that stood out were these two, simply because the contrasting colours and shadows caught my eye.
Whilst staying in London for the weekend I travelled around using the Underground and boats.  I chose to select these photographs as they are all very different.
These photographs were taken in St. Petersburg, Russia.  As a History student, I am fascinated by the instruments of war from yesterday as it shows a time when combining engineering and science [to this degree] with war was a new concept.
Monument Geroichrskim Zashchitnikam Leningrada - By visiting this space I was opened up to seeing the contrast between the wasy different cultures honour their fallen soldiers.
The architectural diversity within Russia is monumental, yet, still equally encapsulates the Russian culture which is to have a strong rulership over a large nation.  This is done through their overbearing buildings that seem to have a grasp on the land due to their immense lengths.  The showcasing of old military weapons give the impression of a long standing dominance.  In contrast, the buildings also convey priceless beauty with more effort spent on the tube networks than other countres might spend on an entire city.  It goes to show that the dark past of the Russian government left behind an ugly mark in a stunning way.
Whilst in Manchester for the weekend I took these pictures in an attempt to capture a different style of photography, one that conveyed lines and direction.
