Ceramic Mountains

Tableware
These ceramic models were produced during ceramic workshop held at the British Higher School of Art & Design in Moscow last spring. As students, we had series of master classes from specially invited professional in this craft area and then, depending on a wish we were practising on our own. These pieces represent minimalistically stylized different types of mountains. They are available in various shapes and colours, from aggressive hot volcanoes full of lava to mysterious snow-capped peaks and from spiky and dangerous old rocks to peaceful hills covered with green forests. These pieces are supposed to serve as vases for single flowers or flower compositions, but they also can be just decorative sculptures. Production method is quite easy. All the parts are produced with slip casting ceramics method. After drying all the objects are fired in the oven, then glazed and again fired.
