Haghpat Monastery Armenia-Kloster Haghpat Armenien
The monastery Haghpat is a monastery of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Haghpat in the province Lori in the north of Armenia. Founded in the 10th century, the monastery has been largely preserved in its original condition except for minor renovations in the 11th and 12th centuries. It is considered an outstanding example of medieval Armenian architecture. In 2000, UNESCO included the monastery in the UNESCO World Heritage List together with the monastery of Sanahin four kilometres to the west (which has been a World Heritage Site since 1996).
Das Kloster Haghpat ist ein Kloster der Armenischen Apostolischen Kirche in Haghpat in der Provinz Lori im Norden von Armenien. Das im 10. Jahrhundert gegründete Kloster blieb, abgesehen von kleineren Renovierungen im 11. und 12. Jahrhundert, weitgehend im Originalzustand erhalten. Es gilt als ein herausragendes Beispiel für die mittelalterliche armenische Architektur. Im Jahr 2000 nahm die UNESCO das Kloster gemeinsam mit dem vier Kilometer westlich befindlichen Kloster Sanahin (das seit 1996 zum Weltkulturerbe zählt) in die Liste des UNESCO-Weltkulturerbes auf.
