Green with Greed-Project 2 Study of Value/Colour/Texture- City Shoot-Foundation design

Introduction
This project was a joint project in a way. We as a class had to select a photo from our city shoot of Toronto. We then had to obviously use value, colour and texture to create a different version of the original photo.

Materials
- Coloured alcohol markers
- Silver marker
- Hot press board
- Glue

Creative Process
My creative process included panic, which colours would looks best? How can I make this look different from the Original when it was just a very straight building? I made many photocopies of my initial outline sketch. i then tried out many different colour varieties, textures and patterns.

Workflow
This is the original photo, taken in downtown Toronto.
This is the original sketch, with grey tone markers used to depict the lights and dark's of the image.
Testing out the blues and purples on a photocopy of the orignal.
Testing out greens and blues on just normal tracing paper.
My final colour study on a photocopy of the original image. This settled my thoughts to use yellow and orange.
Even though its messy it helped a lot to get the original trace onto the board, from there i added the colour and spiral pattern in the background.
With the final piece done my panic was over.
Conclusion
The final piece being completed made me realize that the silver around the building itself would have been enough but I could only regret it once it was done. Colour is also just annoying, beautiful to look at when done right but im going to stick to black and white a little longer.
