Infographic - Blood Pressure Machine
In this project, I am tasked to do an infographic about a medical instrument and I chose to do the Blood Pressure Machine.
As i did my research, I realised that there were many information pertaining to the Blood Pressure Machine and also about High Blood Pressure. This information needs to be clear and succinct in order to be easily digested for a normal person. As I read more about High Blood Pressure, I came to found out that it has no symptoms but has dire consequences. The statistics shown are quite terrifying for a disease that has virtually no symptoms to warn the person about, making it a silent killer.
In a way, the Blood Pressure Machine, though it is passive, can warn a person of the presence of the silent disease and I allude it to it being a silent hero as well. Like how if there's a villain, theres a hero. And I played that narrative into this infographic.

In terms of art direction, I wanted it to have some representation of the hero element in the Blood Pressure Machine and the villain element in High Blood Pressure. Hence, I chose a 3-colour colour scheme that would have both elements. It also gives off a 'medical' look which would suit well in a hospital setting if it ever were to be there. I also kept a consistent clean illustration style that would not be too flashy or visually distracting as it would be too much for the eye due to the amount of text and information present.
