Maratonas Fotográficas 2013
A client came to us, me and Bruno Dias, asking the graphic event identity to a maraton in Famalicão that consist in taking pictures for all the city, passing trough different points and differents zones from the city.
The duration of the event has one day and in the end, in the late afternoon, every participants gather the pictures that were taken all the day, and the best picture, after passing by a jury, would win the contest. The best pictures were exhibited in a gallery for the public to see.
So I was tasked to do the graphic identity of the event, and the first think that came to my mind was "hunt for the best picture". And so, recalling the mythic story of The Hare and the Tortoise, i decided to resort the symbolic element as the rabbit, in this case the hare, puting the animal in the center of the view, almost like catching/ huting the hare. In a maraton, hunting a hare, the best picture, using a gun that takes pictures not bullets.
In order of techniques i decided to make an hand/ finger made, drawing and painting with different materials in diferent layers of tracing paper, and in the end, using trackpad from the computer wildly.

Carrots Arise from the Earth, Desing Not !
This was a title that we, me and Bruno Dias, decided to change, remembring to all clients that we do not work for free. We asked a very symbolic price for different types of artefacts that were needed - Posters, postecards, maps, etc. But they thought that it was very much, so in the day of the meeting, decided to asked other designers, to get the best price, and we already had the graphic proposal done. The project was rejected, and i made this poster a big joke of it. So the name of the event now is called Carrots Arise From the Earth, Design Not ! and It is going to happen in neverland. We also eat friends.
