COLLEGE PROJECT

Brief

Timeline: 2019
Tags: Book Design

The assignment was to create an unconventional book design that talked about various printing methods, it should include first hand images and primary research from the field visits that were conducted. Since the book was all about printing process and methods, I thought of creating a book that allows the reader to see the bare-bones of printing.
Hence, a transparent book!

Each page is dedicated towards a single printing method.
Starting from Letter-press, Lithography and Etching to UV Printing and 3D printing.
Using the printer CMYK marks and keeping in the crop marks as well to make it feel more raw and authentic.
A range of textured white papers are placed in-between each page. The papers are samples collected during our field visits. Tagged with its name and weight(gsm).
(Example: Cordenons Natural Evolution-Ivory  280gsm)

What I tried to achieve here was, to create an experience of exploration, where the reader has to go in and move things around to understand what print production is all about, just like we did on our field visits. Uncovering the images and the knowledge, the ins and outs of printing
