The assignment was to create an unconventional book design that talked about various printing methods, it should include first hand images and primary research from the field visits that were conducted. Since the book was all about printing process and methods, I thought of creating a book that allows the reader to see the bare-bones of printing.
Hence, a transparent book!
A range of textured white papers are placed in-between each page. The papers are samples collected during our field visits. Tagged with its name and weight(gsm).
(Example: Cordenons Natural Evolution-Ivory 280gsm)
What I tried to achieve here was, to create an experience of exploration, where the reader has to go in and move things around to understand what print production is all about, just like we did on our field visits. Uncovering the images and the knowledge, the ins and outs of printing.
