Trans of Finnish Shaman Illustration

"TRANS OF FINNISH SHAMAN"
"Trans of Finnish shaman" is an illustration made for my bachelor's diploma. First one from a series of illustration about Finnish gods, culture and traditions. Finland and illustration are my biggest passion so I decided to combine them.
Shamanism was very important in ancient Finland. This scene shows shaman lying on the ground and falling into a trans, he's between two worlds - his body is here on the Earth but his soul is amongst the dead people. Only he can see the spiritual world. He also has his shamanic drum with magical drawings. It helps him falling into a trans. The other standing man is his assistant. He helps the shaman to come back and wake up when it's time. Foxes are shaman's guardian spirits. They assist him during the journey.
There are other elements taken from Finnish culture - lilies of the valley are national flowers in Finland. Ornaments are taken from traditional Finnish costumes. On the bottom of the illustration there is a cantle - traditional Finnish instrument.
I hope you will enjoy it!
