This was one of my first University projects, and involved the exploration of the eclectic combination of natural flesh's such as fruit and human. The idea was to create a series of images that brought about a viceral reaction when observed, as well as maintaining the observers interest through a unique, innovative and thought provoking underlying idea.
I decided to capture my images im Black and White so that the opposing flesh would stand out strongly against that of the human; and to bring a sense of raw passion which is mirrored in the erotic nature of the naked body. The dramatic make up and styling again enforce this idea of animalism- raw and wild; complementing the delicate way in which the meat or fruit is draped over the torso.
These pictures show emotion; lust, anger, passion through body language and eye connection, giving the observer the impression that this is a complex story without words. It is this, juxtaposed with the simplistic black and white colouring and the tender exposure of human flesh that makes these images so powerful.
