Managers Cookbook available from Amazon, iBooks and all other eBook distributers.

Managing others for the first time doesn’t have to be a daunting task, whether you are new to this or just want to be the best kind of manager you can, you have decided to see what you can learn.

I have been a manager of people for 14 years and have had the opportunity to work in all areas of the life-cycle of an employee from recruitment, managing, promotion, transferring to diverse areas of the same business as well as the challenging situations of poor performance, low moral, disciplinary and dismissal.

I have accreditation with the Chartered Management Institute and the Royal Photographic Society.  How does photography help?  Tell me that getting a large wedding party to all face in the same direction, at the same time AND look happy about it isn’t managing then I don’t know what is!

So what kind of book is this?  Well there are a wealth of resources available for managers with classics like “The one minute manager” and “Liquid Leadership”, they are all well worth reading and will help you decide what type of manager you want to be, but very few get down to the detail of actually doing the job.  That makes this cookbook quite dense with practical ways of working instead of broad concepts; because of this it’s not intended for you to read in one go.  Instead pick up and read a bit a day and try what you want to.

This has been written as the “pic n’ mix” of managers guides with over 1,000 individual tips, you pick the section you want to learn about and it’s like having an experienced friend tell you ways of actually doing it for the first time.
