LVDIQVE - Exhibition video content

LVDIQVE is an exhibition displayed at Lugdunum, roman museum and theaters of Lyon. It explores how playing evolved through centuries, and to do so, uses this video to show ancient games in a 21th century way.

Ludique est une exposition de Lugdunum, musées & théâtres romains à Lyon. Elle explore la thématique du jeu dans l'antiquité gallo-romaine, et pour cela, nécéssitait une vidéo en motion design qui montre les jeux antiques d'une façon contemporaine et ludique.

Illustrations - 8 illustrations, inspired from ancient vases scenes, shows how people were playing back then. They are very detailed, recreating youth for those ancient drawings, damaged by time. The "vectorial feeling" of illustrations remind that the exhibition offers a contemporary look on the past.
Illustrations have been used also for museography by Inclusit design.

Animation - Most of the video is based on an horizontal traveling, reminding of the original object being turned. Characters' movement is emphasized, and fluid transitions uses the games material.

Un traveling horizontal et des plans séquences rappellent la forme du vase. L'accent est mis sur le mouvement des personnages, et des transitions fluides utilisent le matériel des jeux.

Font - Infini Font, created by Sandrine Nugue for CNAP, echoes with time traveling and gaming with its set of ligatures and symbols. We used it to design also poster and teaser for the exhibition.

La typographie Infini de Sandrine Nugue pour le CNAP évoque le mélange des époques et le jeu, grâce à ses symboles et ligatures.
