Fostering Hope

The state of Virginia has a larger percentage of older foster care youth than the nation. Specifically, the city of Richmond has the highest population of foster care children in Virginia. The unsettling reality of older foster care youth is that they will age out of the system with no help, leaving them homeless and unemployed.
Two peers and I created Fostering Hope, a social good campaign that persuades business men and women to use their professional experience to mentor older foster care youth, ages 16-18. The campaign will be broadcasted throughout the city of Richmond using a variety of advertising and media platforms. With the implementation of Fostering Hope, foster care youth will be prepared and educated for the next stage of life.
The designs used in our campaign are located across Richmond in various transportation and city locations. My team and I wanted to target locations that business men and women frequented the most.
For the social media component of our campaign, we created a LinkedIn profile that business men and women can expand the community of mentors. In our posts, we will highlight successful mentorships, foster care related statistics, and mentorship opportunities.
