English: Olinda's Carnival is one of the biggest in the world's. I was invited to redesign a Logo for a group of friends who every year rents a house in Olinda to party during the 5 days of Carnival celebration. This is something that many groups of friends do every Carnival, and since there are so many of them, they usually give a personalized name for the houses they are staying at. In this case, the house was named “Casa do Dalí” and the clients wanted to enjoy their time with customized things such as, shirts, mugs – and have a banner on the façade of the wall in order to make it easier to located it.
The name of this house is a tribute to the Catalan painter Salvador Dalí. When I started to design the logo I did a research to try to connect the Carnival of Olinda with Dalí. That lead me to find self-portrait of Dalí, from 1928, that he made for his friend Federico. I found that the portrait looked alike the "Homem da Meia-Noite", an icon of Olinda's carnival.
The colors green and orange were already used on the house logo the year before, I then added shades from a Dalí’s painting. The typography was Dalí's own signature and the other types were based on the "Dalí News" (a newspaper that he used to publish).

Português: O Carnaval de Olinda é um dos maiores do mundo. Fui convidada para fazer o redesign do Logo de uma das casas em que pessoas se hospedam durante o período de festas.
Estas pessoas costumam dar nomes as casas, reunir grupos de amigos e ficar da sexta-feira de Carnaval até a quarta-feira de cinzas lá. Muitas das casas são bastante organizadas e personalizam itens, abrem espaço para diaristas, criam regras, etc.
O nome da casa é uma homenagem ao pintor Catalão Salvador Dalí. Ao desenvolver o logo fiz uma pesquisa que pudesse unir o Carnaval de Olinda com Dalí. Encontrei então um auto-retrato de Dalí feito em 1928 para seu amigo Federico, o qual me remeteu ao "Homem da meia-noite", um ícone do carnaval de Olinda.
As cores verde e laranja já haviam sido utilizadas pela casa no ano anterior, acrescentei tons a partir de uma pintura de Dalí e a tipografia se deu, pela assinatura do próprio Dalí e tomando como base o "Dalí News" (jornal que ele publicava).
