TAIPEI 101 ‑ 50 Most Influential Tall Buildings
CHICAGO – [October 8, 2019] – In conjunction with its 50th anniversary, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) has revealed a special list of the “50 Most Influential Tall Buildings of the Last 50 Years.” The following buildings will be formally recognized at the CTBUH 10th World Congress, which takes place in Chicago at the end of October:
TAIPEI 101 (Taipei, Taiwan) – Completed in 2004
Holding the World’s Tallest Building title from 2004 to 2010, TAIPEI 101 has become a global icon; just as importantly, it represents a worldwide precedent for sustainable skyscraper development. Nearly every aspect of the building’s design is steeped in symbolism.
