Growing up, I was always taught to be cautious of bees and their stings. They were seen as a dangerous insect that I should always try to stay clear of. Because of this, I grew up with a negative view of bees and saw them as quite an inconvenience. As I have grown older, I have learnt more about bees and their important role in our environment.
Bees are estimated to pollinate one third of the food that we consume.1 This means that we need to protect these insects in order to sustain our crops.
My intention with these bee inspired earrings is to help create a better understanding of these insects, and to change peoples views on them.
