Spread, 2012
featured in a group exhibition at the Byam Shaw School of Art, November 2012
Through a window, looking out into the city, one can see the people. One can view upon the passerbys and engage in the city landscape. Progressing constuction sites, new buildings popping out, and small changes are all known to the viewer.

But there's a big change. A black swan. Cultural Infection. Globalization. Exchange.

It's all spreading out, consuming the city. Ideas, influences, culture are all being swapped. Ideologies being reformed. Technological advances and improvements. Mannerisms mixing up. Tradition lost and tradition reborn. The city is spinning and the people are moving. The knowledge is migrating. The disease is spreading.

The window displays the outside world. But it is also a gateway into the room. The walls are morphing; the people are rising from the walls and bringing inside the changes. The new culture is being made. One becomes swallowed and reborn.
