MUSIC VIDEO: TWEETERS
Dripping in nostalgia, the 'Tweeters' video shows rappers Dabbla and Rag'n'Bone Man getting sucked into a retro console, to meet their childhood heroes and enemies.
Conceived back in October of 2017 the concept was straight forward, 90s games, nostalgia and 2 characters fooling around. The idea started with the characters been simplistic with no features or distinctive identity....then the project started getting progressively more complex when we started modeling the characters around Dabbla and Rag'n'Bone Man... then we though why not make a custom animation rig to get them more human like....then why not get full face feature animation ...then we though why not add lipsynch capabilities ? what can go wrong right?...
CHARACTERS
We thought low polygon would be easy to design but making someone recognizable with so few polygons turned up to be a challenge .The models were done literally bit by bit polygon by polygon....ooh yes Rag'n'Bone Man had a face tattoo half way though the project...guess who is going to render the entire first half of the video again...
90S TEENAGE DREAM ROOM
Their animated bedroom was designed to be truthful to any 90s kid's cave. Drawn from old photos and hazy memories, the room features all things great about 90s ...Walkman, trading cards, and the original Game Boy. Cool thing that we had to model all these elements with nostalgia fueling our work and grainy pictures as references to make our effort a nightmare.
GAMES REIMAGINED
The list of potential games was obviously massive but we had to pick only 3 . Pac Man , Crash Bandicoot and Mario Kart were the choice of the artists so we followed that.
