Created an original collection of eight dingbats from concept to final creation that is to be paired with an Old Style typeface or used for patterns and borders. I have revised and cleaned up the vector work since the original dingbats were constructed to show my growth as a designer.
In my title page example, the style works beautifully with Garamond. Other typefaces suitable for pairing include Perpetua, Goudy, or Minion Pro. I hope to one day create a typeface that will adopt these dingbats. They have been described as organic yet mechanical and I was very influenced by Old Style typefaces in making them. It was a very fun project; my favorite thing about them is how they are somewhat nostalgic and tend to remind everyone of something different.
