At QUT, I had an opportunity to work with TradeMutt as a part of DYB102 Design Intensive. We have been given the design brief to work with by TradeMutt on Aug 28th to Aug 30th 2019.

Design Brief: How can design create further opportunities to make the key message of TradeMutt more influential?

From what we heard from TradeMutt guys, Ed and Dan, We aimed to design something that we could connect tradies to community of people in/outside of the tradie community since we figure out problems were that it is hard to find people that you know listen to you. As a Trade Mutt's catch phrase "This is a conversation Starter", we built an app that can get more tradies to start talking and looking after one another as a community. 

Our app have five different functions that will connect people within the community and enhance a bond of the community. All the service are under anonymous unless one wants to take connection to real life. 

Brief description of app functions 

1. Message/people nearby: Connect you to people nearby; tradies on same site, at lunch break at park. 

2. Drift bottle: users can pick up a bottle or throw bottle. bottle contains the message. when you are feeling down or feeling anxiety, you can throw bottle instantly and somebody will pick it up and reply.

3. Event: events can be organized by both TradeMutt or tradies. Gathering with similar-minded people will make it easy for one to connect to others and also create a place where tradies can feel vulnerable. 

4. Foundations: This connects user to 24hr professional counseling service TIACS that is being funded and developed by TradeMutt. 

5. TradeMutt shop: connects you to TradeMutt online shop getting users to know about products and provide easier access.
