Gene Hill once stated, “whoever said you can’t buy happiness, forgot little puppies”.
There is a strong companionship and happiness between a human and a dog. I found
that happiness with a little puppy named Stella. She exudes spunk, sass, love, compassion,
and tons of personality. Not only does she love to be pampered, but she is quite stylish with
her fully stocked closet. Stella’s product & service line is made to capture the
true beauty and personalities within every pampered pooch.
Research
To completely evaluate each and every detail that I wanted to include into the Stella product and service line, I conducted complete and thorough research from other successful dog boutiques. I looked at aspects such as what a pampered pooch would value, what essentials they need, how to make Stella’s products stand out from the rest, what would get customers to come back, what style intrigues the pet owners, and what products are associated with established successful boutiques, bakeries, and puppy spas. I made several word lists and moods boards to help answer my questions. This is a small portion of the research that was conducted.
Logo Development
Since the theme of the products were based on pampered and prissy pups, it was only appropriate to make the logo seem proper and primped. By placing the snout in the air, chest out, and tail in an upright position, the logo speaks proper.
The Four Patterns
As I developed the branding system, I knew that the black and white was a strong identifier within the brand. I chose to keep the patterns simple, yet intruiging and playful. The four chosen patterns represent feminity, while making a bold statement.
Advertising
Because Stella offers both services and products, it was important to advertise what Stella has to offer. Also, the entire Stella corporation was founded because of Stella, herself. What better way to advertise her products than the star of it all, Stella.
The Final Products
Since Stella was broken up into four sections, Boutique, Bakery, Spa, and Resort, I chose to make packaging and labeling for the associated prodcuts. Dog food jars, gourmet treat packaging, shampoo and conditioner, harness packaging, leash packaging, nose balm, nail polish, bow packaging, and shopping bags were all designed to the Stella standard. I also completed brochures, business cards, and portable mini treats.
The Gallery Show
After the business was discovered and established, the show installed, planned, and set up. I carefully decided what aspects should be placed where, and how to successfully introduce the product line.
