This project started with the idea of a heated, transportable dog mat for smaller dogs,

that also had a nesting function. This was our first prototype made together with a fellow

student-designer.

Together with a different student I went to a company (Savic)  that designs and produces animal products for some feedback, after the feedback we redesigned our concept.

We added a handle to make transportation easier.

We also used different fabrics that would be more attractive to the market we are trying to reach + the synthetic wool on the inside would help hold the heat.

The heating has also changed, we are using a focus-area in the centre because that's where the largest part of the animal will lie, by doing this we reduce the electrical cost.

We also changed our nesting system so the animal can crawl in it by itself.

The mat can also be used when completely unfolded

A tip we received from the company was that we could make our dimensions fit the dimensions of existing animal products. One of these examples are transport cages,

This way our product can be combined with others.
