KC Tech Startup Aims to Disrupt Senior Insurance
Direct enrollment platform powered by automated underwriting to save consumers time and money
Olathe, KS – enrollmedicare.com, a fintech company headquartered in Olathe Kansas, is set to take on the Medicare Supplement industry with a new direct-to-consumer product. The company has teamed up with a senior insurance giant to allow Medicare-eligible individuals to purchase cheaper plans with its direct enrollment platform.

“We’ve found the perfect partner,” said Aaron Sims, the company’s 33-year-old founder. “They’re an industry leader that were willing to take our idea to the white board with us.”

Medicare Supplements, currently sold via traditional methods such as call centers and door-to-door salesman, will soon be replaced by a new digital platform which puts the consumer in control. The website’s simple, intuitive process means the average user can enroll in coverage in minutes instead of days.

The back-end of the website is powered by an automated underwriting process that allows a decision to be made instantly. As the automated underwriter collects data, algorithms allow an approval or denial to be issued for cases that don’t require a manual review. This innovative technology will expedite the application process, saving a substantial amount of money for both carrier and consumer.

“The Medicare market today is a lot like going to the DMV—it’s inefficient, slow and painful,” said Sims. “We reinvented the sales process and built everything around ‘simple.’”

Developed in 2016, the website is the first of its kind to offer a direct-to-consumer product in the senior insurance space. enrollmedicare.com was founded by Sims after his experience in the brokerage space, where he saw a large chunk of people’s monthly premiums go to waste on an antiquated distribution model.

“There was a lot going on in this industry, but almost none of it was about actually helping the consumer. We want to help someone turning 65 years old navigate what’s essentially become a broken sector of healthcare,” said Sims.

Currently in beta testing and integration, enrollmedicare.com is expected to launch its proprietary Medicare Supplement product and platform in Spring 2018.
