Recent statistics showed that we produce 35% of organic waste in Italy. Composting really represents a cost-effective alternative to reduce those large amounts of waste coming from kitchen scrap, fruit and vegetable markets, or lawn mowing and tree pruning in parks and gardens and any other kind of farm waste. This practice has important advantages such as: savings; production of natural fertilizer; lower emission of pollutants; solution of the big \"waste\" problem There are 3 types of composting, in accordance with its domestic, industrial and community-oriented uses. And so, how can those who live in the cities start composting? That\'s why I developed such a \"RecoFood\" composting system. The condo wanting to start composting, contact the Municipality which will provide the building with: -A bin for compost equipped with a proper cover, -5 Containers for as many substances (soil, ashes, flour, lime, pollen) to be added to the compost every month in order to improve its quality, -1 Shovel and 4 paddles -A second cover (the RecoFood one) with a scale, an RFID reader, the opening button, the manual control knob and the garbage disposal. Each family will receive a bin for the collection of their waste. The RFID tag, embodied in its inner part, will help recognize the family’s waste after throwing it in the compost. Each condominium will register to the RecoFood website by city, street and house number (thus creating a community for that specific block of flats), in this way it will be possible to give birth to two different types of tasks : those to be carried out by the single flat owners and those to be carried out by the whole condominium. As far as the first tasks are concerned, the user is identified by the composting system thanks to the above described RFID tag located in the collection bin. The user puts his waste on the scale intended to weigh them and writes down the total weight through the condominium website account, then he pulls the knob towards himself, by waiting until the garbage disposal operation is complete. Only when the knob returns to its original position, the user’s task ends. THE \" CYCLIC TASK SEQUENCE\" IS MANAGED BY RECOFOOD IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE FLAT OWNERS INTERCHANGE EACH OTHER IN CARRYING OUT A SERIES OF ACTIONS INTENDED TO IMPROVE THE FINAL COMPOST. The User becomes familiar with the task to be carried out through the TV channel or the computer or the proper application on his smartphone. The user goes to the composting bin and unlocks its cover through the button. He makes the cover slide on the tracks, adds the material (earth, ashes, flour, lime, pollen) necessary to improve the quality of the compost and mixes everything. By closing the bin the User will automatically send the signal of task accomplished on the website. The task is now complete. After about 6 months, the compost is ready to be sold and the proceeds, according to the weight produced and the workload faced by each owner, will be subtracted from the condo expenses. 100 kg of organic waste are changed into about 60 kg of compost The compost is sold at € 8 per kilo then 60 kg = € 480 1 composting bin contains about 950 liters -> 950 litri = about 190Kg the earnings for each composting bin are about €1500,00, total amount that is to be divided among the owners The development of a correct behaviour with respect to the collection and recycling of waste, would allow not only the institutions to recover the organic part of waste, but also the citizens to act according a more responsible attitude as far as such a collection is concerned, as a method for the recovery of waste, representing an important resource. Composting then, will change the organic waste into a fertilizer, with the advantage of reducing the amount of waste going to landfill, limiting unpleasant odors along the chain, as well as the costs for storage, collection, transportation, and last but not least, avoiding the dangers associated with percolation.

The RFID player recognizes  the user by allowing the Wi-Fi system to send all the data acquired by the scale, directly to the website personal account. The hand operated knob activates the mechanical device moving the waste from the scale to the garbage disposal mechanism that will start at the same time.
Once the garbage disposal operation is complete, the knob returns to its original position to indicate  the task end.

Each flat owner will register to the RecoFood website. Through his own account he will be able to check his data periodically and will find the cyclic task sequence managed by RecoFood. 
In such a way each flat owner will interchange each other in carrying out a series of actions intended to improve the final compost.
The App on the smartphone will help control the notifications in a more rapid way.
The cable TV allows direct displaying the flat owner’s task.
