Sinead, the Turkey vulture
Here's Sinead. This beautiful turkey vulture arrived at the Ecomuseum zoo in 1996 following a collision with an automobile. Unfortunately, after an operation to heal his broken wing, she was unable to fly.
Sinead arrived in the Roger Bider * aviary in spring 2015. The aviary is home to ducks of different species and other birds. Inaugurated on July 5, 2012, the area of the aviary is 1325 m2 and 10 meters in height.
In June 2019, the veterinary team discovered that cancer had developed in Sinead's lungs. It was therefore established that Sinead's health could not improve and that it was time to let her go in a dignified and human manner.
* The Aviary Roger Bider is so named in honor of Dr. Roger Bider, founder of the Natural History Society of the St. Lawrence Valley and the Ecomuseum zoo. At the end of the project, you see a photo of this aviary.
Voici Sinead. Cette belle urubu à tête rouge est arrivée au zoo Ecomuseum en 1996 suite à une collision avec une automobile. Après une opération pour soigner son aile cassée, il lui est malheureusement impossible de voler.
Sinead est arrivée dans la volière Roger Bider* au printemps 2015. La volière abrite des canards de différentes espèces et autres oiseaux. Inaugurée le 5 juillet 2012, la superficie de la volière est de 1325 m2 et 10 mètres de hauteur.
Au mois de juin 2019, l’équipe vétérinaire a découvert qu’un cancer s’était développé au niveau des poumons de Sinead. Le constat a donc été fait que la santé de Sinead ne pourrait s’améliorer et qu’il était temps de la laisser partir de façon digne et humaine.
