NEW COLOUR SYSTEM FOR BAUHAUS

NEW BAUHAUS COLOUR SYSTEM

Blue is a colour, which appearance in nature is fairly uncommon. Almost any of animals and only a small number of flowers are coloured blue. The reason why I have chosen the blue it’s that is the rarest colour in nature. That’s why I think we should somehow compensate it and bring it more frequently to our eyes. I have chosen the pigment named Lapis Lazuli, which is the rarest one we can found. From this point I have continued and I have chosen two more analogous colours on the colour wheel in order to achieve harmony and variety. My final colours except main moderate blue are light green and violet.

Besides the colours, I was using for my illustration organic forms and shapes, opposite to geometric ones from Bauhaus. I wanted to represent naturally occurring forms, which are irregular and often asymmetrical. My inspiration were bacteria, which exist in every environment and have wide range of forms. Lastly I used a text from Bauhaus Manifest from 1919 in Weimar and I combined it within all design.
