The ASB is an aid and welfare organization operating throughout Germany. The ASB is party political and confessional independent.

More than 1.3 million people support the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund with their membership. It consists of 16 regional associations, 205 regional, district and local associations and 125 GmbHs. Nationwide, the ASB employs around 40,000 full-time and more than 20,000 volunteers and volunteers.
