The concept for this design is rooted in the idea of the circle of life, manifest in the shape of the earth. Marriage is a unity of two people in the name of love, and often this unity leads to family. The bride already had this idea in mind when she approached me for this job, and together we came up with the “little earth” for the invitation. The boarder of the invitation displays all the events that were to occur during that special day, from the ceremony in church, to driving off in a Volkswagen Beetle, to dining at Rungstedgaard, and enjoying Rungsted harbour in beautiful surroundings. We cut the design in a clear acrylic for a sense of purity and clarity, and also the invitation became something physical for the invitees to keep and remember the day by.
