Puffin Design Awards 2013 Competition entry for 'The Wind in the Willows' book cover.

 

My idea was based upon the characters being so iconic, you would be able to recognise them just by there clothes. This hand illustrated piece was create using a fine liner, where I hung the items of clothing on the branches of a willow tree. I wanted to avoid illustrating the characters to create a fresh take on the book, that would attract both children and adults.
