Martha Ridgeway's profile

Packaging Design: Can Labels

Packaging Design: Can Labels
I designed the above label for a company that planned to distribute this product in the Middle East. Notice the Halal symbol. And the sensibilities of Middle Easterners are why we are directed to add milk, not water, to the powdered instant mix.
I designed this label for powdered instant Mexican Cocoa for the American market, where many people fondly remember their Hispanic grandma's cocoa but are too busy to make it for themselves.
Ruby's Diner started as a small chain of restaurants in Southern California whose mission is to revive the diners of the 1940s. They have been so successful that their customers demanded a milkshake product they could buy and take home with them. Ruby's Dinner was very pleased that my design captured the nostalgia for the 1940s that is their very essence. The cute girl is Ruby herself, the owner's mother, and the illustration was provided to me.

This design was eventually distributed by Costco in South Korea, Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.I was asked to make adjustments to the design to accommodate each country's packaging laws and the translations into Korean and French.
The above design recalls the era when India was part of the British Empire and Indian spices were first introduced to the West.
Caffe D'Vita asked me to design their own milkshake product to be distributed by Costco in Mexico and the United States.
