For the ‘Women in History’ ISTD brief I chose to produce a book based on English electronic music composer, Delia Derbyshire. Best known for her popular electronic arrangement of the theme music to the sci-fi series Doctor Who. The two books reflect the contrasting sides of
this revolutionary artist; the methodical side and the chaotic side. The primary book explores Delia’s life and work and emulates the Delia’s almost mathematical approach to music.
The secondary book acts like a notebook exploring the techniques Delia used to create her unusual sounds.
