Making Money
In this assignment I was to come up with a complete design, front and back, for three separate bank notes of currency from a country of my choosing. I picked Poland as I was born and raised there. I found this project most challenging not only due to the fact the money was to appear real with all its hard to counterfeit elements, but also because I made it my personal goal to honor three heroes I have chosen for this task best I could, utilizing all the skills I had at my disposal at the time.
The 50zl bill features Witold Urbanowicz, Polish fighter ace of the Second World War. He was a commander of Kosciuszko Squadron, the most deadly squadron consisting almost entirely of Polish pilots fighting alongside RAF during the Battle of England against the Nazi Germany.
The 100zl bill features Gen.Elzbieta Zawacka, second women to reach the rank of General in Polish Army and first woman ever to join the Elite Polish fighting force, 'Cichociemni'(Silent Dark) during Second World War. It is equivalent of modern day US Navy Seals.
The 200zl bill features Witold Pilecki, Polish intelligence agent and resistance leader during Second World War. He is known as the only person who voluntarily let himself to be caught and sent to the most notorious Nazi death camp, Auschwitz located in south of Poland in order to infiltrate it. He escaped after completing his mission.
