A book cover montage for The Princess and The Pea by Hans Christian Andersen.
The message behind the story is don’t judge others by their appearance. In this project, I use CC-licensed images and Photoshop to create an composite of my idea.
The scene I'm making is
“It was a princess standing out there in front of the gate. But, good gracious! what a sight the rain and the wind had made her look.”

Design Exploration
Sketches:
I draw the mind map first before I start sketching the concept out. Then I sketch several concept layouts for experimenting.
This the final sketch for my concept layout design.
Layout Experiment:
I experimenting with different images and style. I think the first two are not really fits to my main idea, so at the end I choose the girl standing in front of the gate.
