A selection of publishing work from 2014-2019, ranging from bright and bold covers for novels, to fully illustrated science books for kids, and even Owen's own debut book, Papercut.
My Amazing Body Machine
Dorling Kindersley

A set of 50 anatomically correct paper artworks designed to take young readers on a journey through Sir Robert Winston's explorations of the human body. Each illustration was created with layers of hand cut paper and guidance from a team of scientific consultants.
Frankly in Love
Penguin Random House

This novel was written by David Yoon and explores themes of race, cultural identity and love all in the form of a coming of age summer read. Owen designed the cover to reflect the bold themes and youthful world that Yoon creates.
How We Learn
Penguin Random House

Owen's cover for Stanslas Dehaene's 'How We Learn'. This cover was created from layers of intricately hand-cut paper, reflecting the complexity of how our brain learns. This book explores how the human brain learns through different stages of life, and uses the boundary of computer science, neurobiology, and cognitive psychology to explain how learning really works, and how to make the best use of the brain.

Papercut
Rockport Publishing

Owen's first book, exploring the contemporary world of papercraft art and illustration. Through in-depth interviews and rarely published behind-the-scenes imagery, Paper Cut delves into the working lives of twenty-five of the world’s leading papercraft artists, giving a unique perspective into this burgeoning field of illustration.

A Winter's Walk
Wide Eyed Editions

Illustrated panoramic scenes lead the reader through the story of a little boy on his wintry journey home with a present for the Christmas tree. Each spread was created painstakingly with hand-cut paper layered up, and contains real twinkling Christmas lights throughout the book.
