The Haida are an indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest Coast of North America. Paintings and carvings have a bold and distinct design and craftsmanship, decorating objects with mythic representations of animals and other creatures. I created a symmetrical drawing inspired by art of the Haida Native American people. I choose an a favorite animal for this project, and thought about the shapes that make up the characteristics for this butterfly.
