The colour scheme change/choice isn't just for pure aesthetics either, it also becomes a "dark mode", making the game much more playable at night time settings. A feature which is very common in applications such as YouTube and discord
The User interface was also changed, enabling it to always be seen instead of having to look upwards at the screen, this also suits the games heavy arcade aesthetics
