La complejidad de un memorial para las víctimas de la violencia es abordada desde una visión positiva y generosa, para el perdón se propone regeneración, contra el dolor, el paso del tiempo. La propuesta se divide en tres operaciones que responden a situaciones importantes: la escala urbana con la creación de una plaza y andador perimetral; el ámbito personal a través de un monumento que se esparce por el territorio nacional y que al vaciarse construye un cenotafio; y el legado a las siguientes generaciones mediante la Regeneración del Bosque Patrimonial de Chapultepec.
Un Parque Memorial. El lugar habrá de recibirnos con un pavimento pétreo que acusa una plaza arbolada en cuyo centro una hendidura circular provoca la acumulación de agua, en el centro una escultura que al inundarse hace eco de la tragedia en los corazones de las víctimas, una fuente natural que revela los secretos procesos del tiempo, ningún árbol habrá de ser derribado. Hemos decidido retirar el cerco y sustituirlo por una banqueta perimetral bien equipada como estrategia de regeneración de la imagen urbana, una conexión peatonal con periférico y contención del parque.
El jardín de los momentos perdidos. La segunda operación consiste en la regeneración del bosque de Chapultepec, mediante un proceso de sucesión artificial de las especies vegetales proponemos regalar a la ciudadanía un verdadero bosque de ahuehuetes, encinos, fresnos y sicomoros. La intervención natural se divide en tres etapas: preparación, construcción y forestación.
Cenotafio. Está compuesto por una habitación triangular subterránea cuyos pasillos funcionan como contenedores de millones de piedras de basalto negro redondeadas, pulidas y grabadas , las piedras representan una naturaleza primitiva, sólida y atemporal con una carga simbólica sujeta a la interpretación de cada visitante, siempre íntima y personal.
Cada visitante podrá tomar una porción del monumento (piedra), podrá tomar para sí un símbolo del encuentro, que así dejaran de pertenecer al parque y se esparcirán como un grito de esperanza que iluminara las noches más oscuras a lo largo de México. El monumento se transforma así en un acontecimiento, a través de la acción constante de los visitantes mientras el jardín florece el monumento se vacía y se expande a todos los rincones del país, la habitación secreta emerge y la memoria se reconstruye.

The complexity of a Victims of Violence Memorial is approached from a positive and generous vision: regeneration for forgiveness, against the pain, the pass of time. The proposal is divided into three operations that meet the three important situations: the urban scale with the creation of a square and perimeter walkway, the personal levels through a monument that spreads all over the country, gets empty and constructs a cenotaph; and for last the legacy to future generations by regenerating the Chapultepec Heritage Forest.
A Memorial Park. The site will receive us with a stone paving revealing a wooded square, in the center a circular gap suggests and leads to rain accumulation, a sculpture that inundates in the middle of the water echoes the tragedy in the victim’s hearts, a natural fountain that reveals the secret processes of time. No tree has been cut down. The existing fence was removed and replaced with a suitably furnished (wooden benches, solar lights, separated trash) perimeter sidewalk as a strategy for regenerating the urban image, for retaining the park and as a pedestrian connection with the Periferico Avenue.
The garden of the lost moments. The second operation consists in the regeneration of the Chapultepec Heritage Forest, by means of an artificial succession of plant species we propose to give to the city a true forest of ahuehuetes, oaks, ashes and sycamores. The natural intervention is divided into three stages: Preparation, Construction and Afforestation.
Cenotaph. The Memorial to Victims of Violence is a sui generis proposal that suggests a new conception of the monument as a catalyst for collective memory. It consists of a triangular subterranean room with corridors that serve as containers of millions of rounded black basalt stones, polished and etched-if possible-, the stones represent a primitive nature, solid and timeless with a symbolism subject to the interpretation of each visitor but always intimate and personal.
Each visitor can get and conserve one portion of the monument (a stone), can take a symbol of the encounter, can reclaim as his or herself those petrified treasures, that way they will stop belonging to the park and will spread as a claim for hope that will enlighten the darkest night all the way through Mexico. Thereby, the memorial transforms into an event, by the constant action of the visitors; while the garden blooms, the monument empties and expands to every spot in the country, the secret chamber emerges and the memory reconstructs.
