Hooray! It's Kadooment Day! Character Design sheets. (I wanted to add more, but unfortunately this is only horizontal).
What started out as a semester-long project, turned into a personal project inspired by my family and culture. Kadooment Day (aka Crop Over) is one of the national and most important holidays celebrated in Barbados. It celebrates the annual harvest of sugarcane, rum, and molasses during its colonial days when the island was occupied by the United Kingdom. The inhabitants of the island would celebrate a year's worth of hard work and industry by having large parades with people adorned in colorful costumes, singing and dancing from dusk till dawn, and all the fish cakes and conkies one can have in a lifetime.
