Independent Study in Letterpress
This is one of my series from an Independent Study I had in letterpress. This piece was accepted by Ellen Lupton, into the Annual Juried Show in March 2019. My Independent Study was a focus on photography, hand manipulation, and typographical printing using wood type. My independent study was purely experimental with a focus on the mark making, rather than the final outcomes. I based the final projects off of chance processes. I want my Independent study to be perceived by everyone's individual ideas, rather than what I say it means to me, so I used a series of one word titles using wood type in letterpress. I decided not to give a reason for the text and image associations, rather, I want the viewer to decide what they perceive from the pieces.
