El baseball es un deporte que requiere paciencia, familiaridad y mucha dedicación. Este deporte llegó a México entre 1870 y 1890 y existen diferentes rumores acerca de en qué estado de la República Mexicana surgió. De acuerdo con Nuñez, en 1870, en Nuevo Laredo, se construía el ferrocarril del estado de Tamaulipas y se contrató a supervisores americanos, uno de ellos, Johnny Tayson, que era entusiasta del nuevo deporte y comenzó a enseñarlo entre los trabajadores. Así organizó dos equipos que jugaron entre sí. El origen del béisbol en la Ciudad de México data de 1887 con el nacimiento del “Mexicano club”, el equipo más antiguo del país. Ya en el béisbol profesional, se convirtió en el “México” que ha tomado parte de la Liga Mexicana hasta nuestros días.
