Originally this logo was done for a project in a sophomore level graphic design course. The project, at that time, was to combine and event and a historic landmark into a figure ground relationship. I chose to represent a wine tasting at the colosseum. This is what I submitted for that project:

However, after looking back at it, I decided to rework it into a logo for an existing wine tasting bar that is located a few miles from the Colosseum. I reworked line weights and variance to make a more cohesive mark for the company. 

After tweaking the mark, I added in the name of the company and finessed the size and spacing.
