Essent (Powerhouse) Design sprint automation quotation process

Powerhouse operates in the business market of the energy sector and is owned by Essent. Its services consist of an online platform, where customers can view information about their gas and electricity products and where they can optimise their prices.

Powerhouse's quotation process was due for an upgrade: this process was not digital. Both prospects and the departments involved experienced long lead times, lack of insight into the status and doubts about the usefulness of certain steps in the process. The aim was to make this process clearer and more user-friendly for both customers and internal employees.

My UX design tasks:
Create a design for an online solution for the digitization of the quotation process
Be part of the design sprint team and continuously monitor the user experience. The team can make autonomous decisions and has all the knowledge needed to create a design. The team consisted of internal and external specialists in marketing and communication, product development, sourcing & pricing and credit control
Prototype testing with customers. The feedback from these customer interviews is used to further refine the prototype. Design Thinking methodology.
Developing personas (De Optimaliseerder, De Zekerheidszoeker en De Uitbesteder) and use cases.
Visually completely contemporary and in line with the brand values of Powerhouse.

The result is
1. An application design with which a Powerhouse prospect is guided online through a quotation and contracting process. With this application the Powerhouse employee gains direct insight into which phase the customer is in. The process can be completed in phases and is set up in such a way that it can be expanded with product advice and even online contracting.

2. For a quick quotation, the team has also developed a concept for a Quick Scan.
