Illustration // Open Call Poster

POSTER
POSTER is a public art exhibition which takes place on the street, turning it into an open air gallery. It is a tribute to one of the most powerful media that ever existed.

Illustration, Photography, words and mixed media take on the poster format as their medium.
Just like in previous years there was an open call. It was an open invitation to create a poster for the exhibition. The artwork didn't have to answer to any particular topic.

I wanted to bring a bit of nature into the city. I found inspiration on the movie The Wizard of Oz (particularly Dorothy's line "Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore") to create my illustration. It depicts a young girl exploring her surroundings and finding out she is not in Lisbon anymore. She is now in the forest!
