This project was created with the interest in to increase the tourism industry that is becoming a big economic source from recent years in Colombia and especially in the capital of the country, Bogotá. The project is developed from the analysis of a field investigation that opens doors to understand how is the tourist experience of a traveler who chooses to visit Bogotá. This leads to finding the authenticity and charisma of the city, which is the main topic to create WanderCrowd, an experience that wants to approach the uncommon things of the city and culture as a touristic attraction.
Who are we and how it works?
WanderCrowd an experience that works as a contact point between culture, entertainment, recreation, with local inhabitants and tourists. The startup of this experience has place in Bogotá which is a big metropolis where the tourist doesn't have clear what to do or where to find what they are looking for and more specifically, when they have a short stay. WanderCrowd facilitates the access to hidden places but valuable to find in large cities, besides, it offer a big variety of activities from different areas of the city for many types of personalities. This experience have alliances with many restaurants, bars, shops and other establishments to promote them and also to give offers and sales to the users. The main purpose is that the tourists be able to have this experiences in the company of a local person, that allows a more authentic contact with large cities cause they know them deeply. This service acts through a virtual platform, available as an application and web page, with the purpose of serving as a facilitator for a tourist when it comes to wanting to find a different and out of the ordinary offer when going to this type of destinations.
You can be a host (who lives in the city) or a traveler (who visit the city).
You can create a plan being a host or a traveler! You just have to select a place in the map and give more information, to then the other users be able to join your plan.
You can join a plan being host or traveler! The app will show you the plans close to your location in the map, you can set up the map to show plans more far from your location. Also the map will show plans that are happening in real time and plus the ones that will happen in the next hours or days.
In the moment that you join a plan or that you create, you will be able to chat with the people that make part of the plan.
Then you can just qualify the app, the host, and the place where you been!
