Story Palace
2019
The design is inspired by traditional Chinese shadow play, combining Western-style stage ideas. It is a multi-functional and portable wooden box which functions as a mini theater. The child is encouraged to create her own characters and scenes and tell stories by herself. She can build her dreams with this palace and store them. The wooden handle gives the child access to bring it to anywhere and share with her friends. Windows on both sides provide opportunities for multiple people to play at the same time, which also develops the child’s ability of cooperation and communication.
