Implicit Bias is something is something that is suggested or implied but directly expressed. remains ignored and unacknowledged most of the time. Most people of colour are victims of stereotypes, biases and preconceived notions. These assumptions often harm people and make them more vulnerable to hate crime and intolerance.
To put this concept on paper, I started off by interviewing people who had faced any kind of implicit bias or discrimination which affected them. I then went on to photograph them. I wrote the phrases that they had heard and left out the words that affected them the most.
Finally, I used Morse code to write down the words and illustrated the pictures accordingly. I added the Morse code chart so that one could interact with the photo journal and figure out how implicit bias works and how acknowledging it can help solve most of the problem.
I mostly used natural lighting and kept the illustrations simple so as not to overwhelm.
