Accroding to the British Library,"since its publication in 1922,readers have been daunted, dazzled and puzzled by Ulysses".It is also often described as probably'THE MOST purchased and least read book in the world"Indeed, the novel occupies an intimidating position whithin the library canon as a byword for experimental modernism.
One of its more daunting passages is Molly Bloom's 4391 word, one sentence monologue at the end of the book.
Ulysses is a famous stream of consciousness novel. The text segment I chose in this book is a woman's monologue, a true piecemeal inner monologue. As we know, the inner world is beyond control, unpredictable and disorderly. I think the design of this book focuses on enhancing its readability and making it playful, especially the selected clip does not contain punctuation, so that the readers can be interested in it and can read it smoothly and tirelessly.
In the design process, I tried to break the whole paragraph of text, combined with different typography to divide the text into diverse pages and paragraphs, highlighting interesting or important words.
For the typeface, I chose Bodoni and Segeo. Segeo is an elegant, readable font that I use as the main font of the book. It reduces the barriers of readers to read and does not distract readers. At the same time, I chose Bodoni as the embellishment and highlighted font. Bodoni's slim and feminine shape are perfect for depicting women's inner world. The unique style and very pronounced contrast between thin and thick strokes make Bodoni classy and minimal.

In this book, I used two restricted colors, red and black. In my opinion, the two or more colors of this book will distract the reader. All black and white will make the book dull and boring, and the appropriate red can ease the reader's reading pressure.
