One of my favorite classes was advanced lighting for photography. I gained experience with using battery powered mono-head lights, shooting on location and in studio, designing editorial layouts and further experience directing models.

For our final project we partnered with apparel design students to shoot a fashion catalog. The apparel design students provided their design work and models. Photo students organized, directed, and shot the photo shoot while making sure we highlighted every detail of the clothing through a variety of photos.

We had the opportunity to layout our own spreads which I jumped on. It was fantastic working on every aspect of this project from executing the photo shoot, editing photos, and then designing the spread layouts. Determining which photos to use in the catalog based on the feeling of the photo over the quality of the shot was also a good experience. While not every photo made the cut, we still provided the apparel design students with all our photos for their own portfolios.
