The AHA project is supposed to remind Slovaks of the exceptionality of traditional Slovak craft, particularly the ornamentation of folk embroidery, and to show them its timelessness in connection with current trends in graphic design. AHA shall spread awareness of Slovak ebroidery, present its artistic value and its variety.
AHA does not aim to present embroidery as something that belongs to a museum of ethnology, but as
a phenomenon that can adapt to any age and work together with actual trends in art.
 
The primary part of the project is a book AHA split into 8 chapters, according to 8 Slovak regions. Each chapter has its unique graphic execution that can be seen in the choice of colours, usage of graphical elements and techniques, as well as typography. The chapters present ornaments and lyrics of a folk song typical for given region. The book contains of a few paper materials – golden and silver refer to embroidery made of expensive thread, tracing paper represents the softtness of embroidery and carved paper denotes its high-end decorativeness.
